The answers to these questions are all things that you include in your cover letter to make it stronger and show a school what you have to offer them. I was doing something different while showing them my skills are transferable.
And this was just day one! The pack of information arrives and in it are the application form, job description, person specification and some background material.
Can your track record speak for your accomplishments and qualifications to obtain a position as a school administrator? What was far more use was the assistance of more altruistic colleagues who had done it before and were prepared to help me.
I obviously expected to write a supporting letter but the person specification said that the letter should focus on how I had sustained achievement in the school.
This is a major decision and you have to get it right.
And will it get there on time? Triple check that your contact information is accurate and appropriate. At this level of appointment significant whole-school achievements are sought; beyond school, examples might be major responsibilities with a public examinations board or secondment to the local authority leading a project.

What will they look for? There is a core to a good application that is simple, in essence, but tricky in the execution.
Is it the clerk to the governors or chair? I think that the workload would be so great you would end up doing neither job well. Then, it goes without saying, follow instructions to the letter. Rehearsing past achievements or current practice alone is not what the selection panel seeks.
I felt quite confident about this. So, where to start? Have you participated in seminars, training, or other workshops related to your position to enhance your knowledge and skills?
Finally, if you do get to interview stage, approach the day or days with absolute confidence in what you are saying. Test this by sending it first to yourself. Your application reflects on you and must be of the highest quality.
